Officer injured during arrest at downtown Guelph restaurant

A man is facing several charges, including attempting to disarm an officer, after he refused to leave a restaurant in downtown Guelph.

Guelph Police Service officers were called to the unnamed business on Thursday morning when a 47-year-old man ignored repeated demands to leave.

When officers tried to escort him out of the building, there was a physical struggle. One officer had minor injuries.

The man was charged with failure to leave, engaging in a prohibited activity, assaulting a police officer, attempting to disarm a police officer and resisting arrest.
