Man armed with hammer goes on vandalism spree in Guelph

Guelph Police have arrested a man who, they say, went on a vandalism spree along Woodlawn Road East.

It started at a commercial property near Victoria Road North on Tuesday.

Police said the man hit a number of vehicles there, then made his way to a housing complex where he damaged several more.

The man also allegedly assaulted and threatened a vehicle owner.

Officers were called to the area just after 9 p.m.

They arrested the 28-year-old man and charged him with six counts of mischief, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

Police said they also laid more than 30 counts for breaching court orders.
