Guelph woman accused of hitting neighbour in the head with a piece of wood

A Guelph woman has been charged for a neighbour dispute that turned violent.

Guelph Police said both parties contacted officers shortly after 3 p.m. Monday.

“Investigation revealed the woman arrived at her apartment near downtown and saw her neighbour sitting outside,” a media release explained. “The pair exchanged heated words due to an ongoing dispute. The woman saw the man approaching her vehicle and went out to confront him.”

During that altercation, the man was allegedly struck several times in the head with a piece of wood.

Officers followed a trail of blood to the man’s apartment, where they found him with a large laceration on his forehead.

The 63-year-old woman was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm.
