Charges laid following beating at Guelph party

An 18-year-old has been charged for a beating a man at a Guelph party.

Guelph Police said the social gathering was held Friday night at an address near Grange Road and Watson Parkway North.

A physical altercation broke out and, according to police, the victim was punched and kicked approximately 40 times before other guests intervened.

“After they were separated the accused uttered several death threats,” a media release said. “The victim sustained bruises and swelling to his head and face and bruises on his torso.”

The 18-year-old was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault and uttering threats.
