Break-ins reported at four Guelph homes

The Guelph Police Service says four break-ins were reported this weekend in the south-end of the city.

The first was reported Saturday night at a home near Gosling Gardens and Clair Road West. The victim told officers he had arrived home to find his front door kicked open, and clothing and laptop missing.

A few minutes later, another break-and-enter was reported, this time on Clairfields Drive West. The resident told police the front door had been forced open and jewelry taken.

On Sunday evening, officers were called to a home near Victoria Road South and Bard Boulevard.

“The owners came home from a trip after a neighbour observed their front door had been forced open,” police said in a media release. “The home had been ransacked and a laptop and tablet were stolen.”

Later that same night, another break-in was reported on Clairfields Drive West. Police said the suspect damaged the lock on the front door and rummaged through a few drawers, but nothing appeared to be missing.

Investigators are still looking into whether the four incidents are connected.
