Waterloo and Cambridge extend parking bans

Waterloo and Cambridge have extended their on-street parking bans.

Both cities declared snow events Thursday morning in response to the big snowfall.

Waterloo’s parking ban was supposed to end at noon Friday, but the city decided to push it back another day to give crews more time to clear the roads.

Residents can track the city’s progress on its snow removal map.

Cambridge, meantime, has extended its parking ban until 7 a.m. Saturday.

Residents are asked not to park on city streets for the duration of the snow event. Any vehicles that remain could be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.

As of 12 p.m., Kitchener had not extended its snow event. Residents can check the city’s street clearing efforts on its Getting Around map.
