Student found dead on Wilfrid Laurier campus

First-year student found dead in Waterloo From CTV Kitchener's Heather Senoran: Police say they're not treating the death of a Wilfrid Laurier student as suspicious.

A student was found dead on the campus of Wilfrid Laurier University early Friday morning.

The first-year student was located outside a residence at 260 Regina Street.

The school says they’re in the process of contacting the student’s family.

A name has not been released but police have confirmed it was a male student.

They’re calling it a sudden death investigation and say they are not treating it as suspicious.

The Waterloo building is leased by the university and operates as a Laurier residence.

More than 300 students currently live in the building.

Wilfrid Laurier University is offering counselling and support services to students, faculty and staff.
