Snow events declared in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and North Dumfries

Climatologist Dave Phillips says Waterloo Region has gotten more than it's fair share of snow this season.

With another 10 to 20 cm of snow in Sunday’s forecast, on-street parking bans have been issued in Kitchener, Cambridge and North Dumfries.

Drivers are asked to move their vehicles off city street so plows can clear away the snow.

Any vehicles left on the road could be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense

Kitchener

The 24-hour parking ban began at 11:59 p.m. and will remain in effect until noon Monday. It could also be extended or ended early, depending on the weather.

The city said updates on its snow-clearing efforts will appear on its Getting Around online map.

Waterloo

Waterloo’s snow event started at 6 p.m. Saturday. Parking bans start at 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

In an update on Monday, the city cancelled the snow event and street parking ban as of 6 p.m. Monday.

Cambridge

The city said its parking ban will start at 8 p.m. Sunday and remain in effect until Tuesday at noon.

North Dumfries

The township’s winter storm event began at 12 p.m. and continues until noon on Tuesday.

“Please ensure cars are not blocking sidewalks so that the sidewalk plow can safely clear the sidewalks during this snowfall,” the notice said. “Residents are also reminded not to push snow from their driveway onto the road.”
