Police issue 27 charges after vehicle pulled off road twice in three days

The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police have laid more than two dozen charges against a driver who was pulled off the road twice due to safety concerns.

In a social media post, police said the vehicle was stopped twice over a three-day span. The vehicle’s licence plates were seized, but the driver decided to keep using the vehicle.

As a result, police laid the following charges:

• Unsecured load – commercial motor vehicle
• Making a false statement
• Driving a motor vehicle with a major defect in it or in drawn vehicle
• Failing to accurately complete a daily inspection report
• Failing to surrender inspection schedule
• Two counts of overweight in tire
• Two counts of overweight vehicle, violate permit
• Drive a commercial motor vehicle without a valid CVOR certificate
• Two counts of drive a commercial motor vehicle, failure to carry proof of insurance
• Improper tires, drawn vehicle
• Colour coating obscuring interior
• Operating unsafe combination of vehicles
• Two counts of operating a vehicle, failure to display inspection sticker or proof
• Operating a commercial motor vehicle with load not secured as prescribed
• Failure to ensure performance standards are met
• Failure to ensure daily inspection report is conducted properly
• Failure to supply driver with daily inspection schedule
• Permit operating of a vehicle, failure to display inspection sticker or proof
• Permit driving of a commercial motor vehicle contrary to prohibition
• Permit operation of unsafe vehicle on highway contrary to officer’s prohibition
• Permit operation of unsafe combination of vehicles, commercial motor vehicles
