Musical instruments stolen from Erin storage unit found in Brampton

Ontario Provincial Police say a tracking device led them to a property in Brampton where they found drugs and stolen goods, including musical instruments.

The investigation began in September 2024 after someone broke into a storage unit in Erin, Ont.

Tools and several musical instruments were taken.

One of the items had a wireless tracking device on it and police said the victim contacted investigators when they got a hit.

On May 14, 2026, a search warrant was carried out at the Brampton property.

Police said they recovered the stolen instruments and other items, worth approximately $4,500. Officers also seized suspected methamphetamine and heroin. The street value of those drugs was an estimated $3,490.

A 42-year-old man from Brampton was charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, as well as possession of methamphetamine and heroin for the purpose of trafficking.
