Low visibilities possible as dense fog moves in overnight

Environment Canada is warning that some parts of the province may see limited or no visibility overnight as a dense fog pushes through the region.

A special weather statement is in effect for Waterloo-Wellington, Huron-Perth, Grey-Bruce and areas to the north.

The agency warns of the potential for ‘significant and sudden’ fog to catch anyone outdoors off-guard.

In Oxford-Brant and other parts of southern Ontario not covered by the statement, less severe foggy patches will still likely appear overnight.

Visibilities should improve Thursday morning as the fog dissipates, Environment Canada says.

Temperatures will stay cool overnight, with forecasts calling for a low of 13 C in Waterloo Region, Guelph and Wellington County – but warm right back up during the day, with highs of 24 C expected in the same areas.

Huron-Perth will see similar temperatures, but with a chance of showers Wednesday evening in Perth County.

In Grey-Bruce, temperatures are expected to only rise to 22 C on a sunny Thursday.
