Environment Canada says parts of province could get up to 80 mm of rain on Sunday. A special weather statement was issued for southwestern Ontario, including Waterloo Region, Guelph, Brantford, Listowel and Woodstock. The agency said those areas could get up to 50 mm of rainfall, or possibly more, between Saturday night and Sunday evening. “Showers and thunderstorms will repeatedly move through the region,” the alert read. “Localized heavy rainfall is possible for areas that receive multiple thunderstorms. Rainfall warnings may be issued.” A yellow rainfall warning was also put in place for Stratford, St. Marys, Mitchell, Goderich, Wingham and Kincardine. Environment Canada said the total rainfall from storms and showers could range anywhere from 50 mm to 80 mm. “Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas,” the alert advised. “Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced at times. Don’t drive through flooded roadways.”
