Eye on construction: New road closures for uptown and downtown

As spring heats up and construction season kicks into gear, a number of changes are coming to the list of road closures in Kitchener and Waterloo.

In Kitchener, the intersection of King and Louisa streets closed Wednesday. It’s scheduled to remain that way until April 20.

On Friday, the block of Duke Street between Queen and Ontario streets will reopen. The next block over, toward Frederick Street, will remain closed for one more week.

One intersection further up Duke –at Water Street – is scheduled to close on Monday.

Next Wednesday, the intersection of King and Agnes streets will close, as will the intersection of King and Andrew streets. Both are expected to reopen April 27.

In Waterloo, the intersection of Caroline and Allen streets had been expected to reopen on Thursday.

According to the Region of Waterloo, that now won’t happen until June 15.

The intersection of King and William streets is the next to close in the uptown. Starting Monday, it will be closed until mid-May.
