Tractor trailer tips over on Highway 401 ramp near Morriston

One person was taken to hospital after a tractor trailer rolled over on Highway 401 near Morriston. CTV's Tony Grace has the details.

Traffic on Highway 401 was backed up for hours on Wednesday after a tractor trailer rolled over on the Highway 6 South on-ramp near Morriston.

Ontario Provincial Police said the crash happened around 4:15 p.m.

“All lanes are closed on Highway 401 westbound off-ramps to Highway 6/Brock Road South,” a media release said.

Crews with heavy machinery were brought in to right the truck but it was still lying on the road more than three hours later.

The scene was cleared shortly before 10 p.m.

OPP said one person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
