Chicopee Ski Resort reopens after snow makes a comeback

No one celebrates winter’s return like Chicopee. Find out how long the slopes will stay open for.

Staff at Chicopee Ski Resort are rejoicing at the dose of snow Waterloo Region saw on Friday.

The slopes reopened Friday morning and will stay open through March 22, weather permitting.

“Woo! Winter’s back. It’s awesome,” said Chicopee’s CEO Bill Creighton.

Creighton said there was some flooding at the hill recently due to heavy rainfall, but the water has been redirected and the slopes are ready to go.

Typically, Chicopee closes for the season around this time of the year, but they are excited to stay open for March Break.

“I think it’s going to be a total success if we get to Sunday of the end of March break. It’s going to have been one of our best winters ever,” Creighton said.

Chicopee will have March Break camps running Monday to Friday. All are welcome.

“It’s winter again. Come on out and enjoy it,” he said.
