Brantford Police investigating crash at North Park and Charing Cross Street

The intersection of North Park Street and Charing Cross Street in Brantford was closed on Tuesday due to a crash.

The Brantford Police Service is investigating what they call a “major vehicle collision.”

The corner of North Park Street and Charing Cross Street was closed on Tuesday afternoon as investigators worked at the crash site. Police said the intersection would be closed for an extended period of time.

In a social media update at 7:54 p.m., police said the road would be reopening shortly.

Video from the area showed a dark-coloured vehicle with extensive front-end damage. Meanwhile, a broken hydro pole lay across the street.

Police confirmed hydro crews were called to repair the damaged pole and restore power to customers in the area.

An orange-coloured pickup truck with damage to the driver’s side was also stopped nearby.

Police have not said if anyone was hurt in the collision. CTV News has reached out to the Brantford Police Service for more information.
