Boil water advisory for Six Nations of the Grand River

People living on Six Nations of the Grand River are under a boil water advisory.

The notice was issued after a waterline break was discovered. That issue has since been located and fixed, but the Boil Water Advisory will be in effect until Public Works gets two clear water samples and can confirm the water is safe to drink.

People living in the area should bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, preparing baby formula, brushing teeth, making ice cubes or washing fruit.

Residents are also encouraged to give infants and toddlers a sponge bath to make sure they don’t accidentally swallow any water.

Anyone who accidentally drinks the water and becomes ill should contact their doctor or health practioner.
