A motorcyclist in Regina is facing several charges after being caught travelling more than 100 km/h over the speed limit in the city. On the night of Thursday, July 9, officers patrolling the area of Pasqua Street and Sherwood Drive witnessed a motorcycle travelling at a high-rate speed, police said in an update on Friday. When the motorcycle approached the intersection of Pasqua Street North and 9th Avenue, the officers attempted a traffic stop. The driver then fled northbound on Pasqua Street, running several red lights and reaching speeds of up to 200 km/h. The service’s Aerial Support Unit tracked the motorcycle and guided officers on the ground to a home on the 2200 block of Princess Street. Once officers arrived at the home, the man tried fleeing on foot but was quickly arrested. A 23-year-old faces three charges including operating a conveyance dangerous to the public, flight from a peace officer, and resisting arrest. The accused is set to make his first appearance on his charges in Regina Provincial Court on Aug. 19.
