Another blast of winter weather set to hit Waterloo Region

Another snowfall is on the way. How much is expected?

Waterloo Region and surrounding areas will be getting another blast of wintry weather on Tuesday.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for Waterloo Region and Guelph.

Roughly 5 to 10 centimetres of snow is expected to fall starting early Tuesday evening. The snow will taper off overnight heading into Wednesday morning.

According to the weather agency, the snow is associated with an Alberta Clipper, which is a fast-moving system originating from the Canadian Rockies that will sweep across Ontario.

Officials are warning of reduced visibility in areas where heavier snow is expected to fall. Roads and walkways will likely become slippery.

Environment Canada is urging drivers to prepare for deteriorating travel conditions and to allow for extra travel time.
