If you’re looking for the perfect forecast to get outdoors and soak up the final weekend of May, then you’re in for a treat. Friday’s daytime high will reach 25 C with mainly sunny skies. It will be windy, with gusts of up to 40 km/h. “As we head into the weekend, lots of sunshine in the forecast, although our temperatures are going to cool back down right to seasonal values,” said CTV News London’s Reta Ismail. A low pressure system will impact the area north of Lake Ontario and and Quebec, but Ismail says none of the moisture will impact London. As it swings through however it will cause temperatures to drop overnight. Overnight Friday clear skies will remain, but temperatures will drop into the single digits with a low of 8 C. Ismail says a “strong bridge of high pressure” is at play, and that will lead to an extended period of blue skies and sunshine. The weekend forecast will boast mostly sunny skies and temperatures hovering around seasonal this time of year, from 20 C on Saturday and 24 C on Sunday. It will be breezy on Saturday, with gusts of up to 40 km/h. Overnight lows on Saturday and Sunday will also hover around seasonal, with the low dipping down to 6 C on Saturday and 10 C on Sunday, with clear skies both nights. “A great weekend to be outdoors, gardening and taking in all that sunshine,” Ismail said. “Again, a gorgeous weekend, a gorgeous stretch of weather.” Here’s a look at London’s long-range forecast Friday: Sunny.
