Kanye West proposes to Kim Kardashian in over-the-top style

Rapper Kanye West surprised reality star girlfriend Kim Kardashian on her 33rd birthday Monday, with an over-the-top proposal that included a 50-piece orchestra and a 15-carat ring.

West reportedly popped the question to Kardashian inside San Francisco's AT&T Park while an orchestra played Lana Del Rey's 'Young and Beautiful’ followed by a rendition of Kanye’s own hit 'Knock Me Down'.

West had rented the entire stadium for the occasion.

Photos posted on Instagram show a sign above the playing field that flashed the message: "PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!".

etalk's Tanya Kim said the dazzling 15-carat engagement ring was created by Kardashian's friend, celebrity jeweller Lorraine Schwartz.

The proposal, which included Kardashian's family and close friends, was topped off with a fireworks show.

The upcoming nuptials will mark Kardashian's third marriage.

In 2000, Kardashian, then 20, married music producer Damon Thomas. They divorced in 2004.

In 2011 she married boyfriend of six months, NBA star Kris Humphries, in a lavished ceremony that was turned into a TV special.  Just 72 days after the wedding, Kardashian filed for divorce.

This will be West's first marriage. The couple are already proud parents to a four-month-old daughter, North.
