Stony Plain Road combats construction with music on the streets

The Stony Plain Road Business Association has reworked its classic Music in the Park event to cater to ongoing road work in the west end.

Now dubbed Music on the Road, the association is bringing a free outdoor live music series directly to businesses and plazas along Stony Plain Road.

Performances begin this Saturday and will run each Saturday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. until Aug. 15 at various locations along the road.

The event was reimagined by the association in response to reduced foot traffic impacting local businesses in the hopes of drawing community members back to the street.

Each performance features local musicians and two acts per evening. Admission is free and all are welcome. Dates and locations may change depending on weather, but updates can be found on the association’s website.
