Police identify woman who died in west Edmonton

Edmonton police have found and contacted the family of a woman who died in west Edmonton in June.

On Tuesday, police sent out a release asking for the public’s help identifying a 30 to 40-year-old woman found dead in the area of 121 Avenue and 157 Street.

On Wednesday, a new release said they found her family thanks to the public’s assistance.

“While we know that this identification process cannot mitigate the grief of those who have lost a loved one, investigators hope it can bring a measure of resolution to the family and friends of the deceased,” the release said.

Police have said the death was not considered suspicious.
