Three Georgian Bay Township men are facing multiple firearms-related charges after police say they discovered an unsecured gun during an investigation in Tay Township. According to Southern Georgian Bay police, on the morning of April 18, officers saw several people getting out of a parked vehicle at a Quarry Road business. During the interaction, police confirmed one person was wanted on an outstanding warrant. While speaking with the men, authorities say a firearm was spotted inside the nearby vehicle, unsecured and within easy reach. The weapon was seized and all three people were arrested at the scene. A 48-year-old is now facing several charges, including unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use and transport of a firearm, possession contrary to a prohibition order and failing to comply with a probation order. A 43-year-old has been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and with careless use and transport-related offences. A 32-year-old is charged with careless storage and careless transport of a firearm. All three men are scheduled to appear in court in Midland this July.
