Man sought in connection with Old Strathcona assaults

Police are searching for a man who they allege attacked two people in an Old Strathcona McDonald’s last month.

Gene Jacobs, 61, is accused of approaching and assaulting two men at a McDonald’s near 103 Street and 80 Avenue around 2:20 p.m. on May 11.

He ran away from the scene but was identified from security footage.

Police say the attack was unprovoked, and that the parties did not know each other.

Jacobs was charged with two counts of assault and one count of breaching probation.
