A man faces multiple charges in connection with allegations of illegal use of a firearm. Peace River RCMP said in a release that on June 25 at around 4 p.m., they responded to reports of a man walking on a road who pointed a gun at someone. Police say they received three different calls reporting the same thing. Officers enlisted the assistance of a peace officer and police dog and were able to locate the suspect and arrest him. A 31-year-old man was charged with pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession is unauthorized, resist arrest, obstruction of a peace officer, failure to comply with release order conditions, and weapons possession contrary to an order. Following a bail hearing, the man was remanded into custody. He’s scheduled to appear in court in Peace River on June 29.
