A national campaign aiming to support moms and families in need is now collecting essential care items in Edmonton. Movers for Moms is championed by moving company Two Men and a Truck. This year is the drive’s second appearance in Edmonton. “It’s our little effort to ensure that mothers and families are celebrated during the Mother’s Day season,” said community engagement leader Chidi Mbah on Thursday. The company’s Edmonton office at 6710 78 Ave. is accepting donations of toiletries, personal care products, clothing and baby item essentials. All items will then be organized and delivered to Hope Mission. “Hope Mission is an organization that we know over the years has supported communities that have been affected by drug abuse or homelessness, and this is one that is close to us … so we’re trying to give back and support their mission,” Mbah said. The group is hoping to beat last year’s donations of 1,200 items by at least 300. With files from CTV News Edmonton’s Brandon Lynch
