Whoop-Up Days parade marshal nominations

Whoop-Up Days is turning to the community this year to help choose its parade marshal.

Fronting the annual parade is one of the city’s highest honours, and now, Excite Lethbridge is turning to the community to help make the selection.

The new Whoop-Up Days community parade marshal program allows community members to nominate deserving individuals or groups to lead the parade this summer.

Eligible nominees will be judged on set criteria, including community involvement, leadership, achievements and alignment with the 2026 parade theme.

Excite Lethbridge says the program is another way of celebrating the community.

“We know there are people out there that deserve a spotlight on them—deserve some recognition—and by bringing these nominations forward and opening it up to a larger pool, I think we’ll be able to uncover some really cool stories and interesting people that deserve this kind of recognition. It’s something we’re really excited to launch this year,” said Paul Kingsmith, Excite Lethbridge director of event development.

Nominations are being accepted until March 13.
