Two people have died following a single-vehicle collision on New Brunswick’s Grand Manan island. RCMP said officers were called just after 2 a.m. Saturday to a crash on Route 776 in Woodwards Cove. According to police, it’s believed the crash happened when the driver crossed the centre line, left the roadway and entered a wooded area. The driver, an 18-year-old woman, and the passenger, a 21-year-old man, both from Grand Manan, died at the scene as a result of their injuries. Police said members of the Grand Manan Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick and the coroner’s office also attended the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
