From big screens to smaller venues, here are a few places to watch the winning team take the cup. The big screen Place des Festivals One of the biggest watch parties in Montreal will be at Place des Festivals, where the Just for Laughs Festival will be transformed into a World Cup fan zone. The match will be broadcast on giant screens and the event will be free to attend. The site opens at 12 p.m. and a pre-game party will kick things off at 1 p.m., with a DJ and Just for Laughs entertainment. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to find a good spot to watch the match. The site will include bars, concession stands, washrooms, and water stations. Cineplex theatres If big crowds aren’t your thing, head to the movies. Select Cineplex theatres are partnering with TSN to show the game on the big screen. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Laval The City of Laval is also inviting soccer fans to a watch party on Sunday. The city is partnering with the AS Laval soccer club to show the final match for free on the soccer field at Parc de Lausanne. The site opens at 2 p.m. and visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs and snack for the event. Space is limited to 800 people and alcoholic drinks are not permitted on site. Smaller venues Cafe Conca D’oro If you’re looking for an authentic fan experience, head down to Little Italy where you will find a sea of blue and white outside Cafe Conca D’oro. The cafe at 184 Rue Dante has been a popular destination for Argentinian watch parties, with fans bringing their Latin American flare as they spill out onto the street to celebrate. Time Out Market Time Out Market is also joining in on World Cup excitement and welcoming fans of both teams to take in the historic match. The downtown food hall at 705 Sainte-Catherine Street West will have a big screen set up and plenty of snacks and beverages on hand for the 3 p.m. kickoff. Bocadillo Bistro Little Italy’s Bocadilla Bistro is turning its terrasse into a World Cup watch party. “Take a seat on our beautiful terrasse and enjoy the final on our 10 giant screens, surrounded by your friends, great food, and an electrifying atmosphere,” the Latin American restaurant wrote on its Instagram page. The party officially begins at 3 p.m. at 6918 Boulevard Saint-Laurent and reservations are available. Club Espagnol de Québec Spanish fans can head to the Club Espagnol de Québec at 4388 Boulevard Saint-Laurent for the final game between Spain and Argentina. The match will be shown on a screen and visitors can enjoy some tapas on the terrasse. La Paella Down in The Village, Spanish restaurant La Paella will host a viewing party on Sunday as well. “Settle in with some delicious paella, tapas, and a cold beer to enjoy the game the way it’s meant to be enjoyed,” the restaurant wrote on its Instagram page. La Paella is located at 1326 Rue Saint Catherine Est.
