SAIT to offer free cybersecurity training to eligible small businesses and non-profits

The Alberta polytechnic has launched a new cybersecurity course aimed at helping small businesses and non-profits, in partnership with Mastercard.

SAIT is offering free cybersecurity training to small businesses and non-profits.

Funding from Mastercard means tuition will be fully covered for eligible participants.

All organizations are susceptible to cyber threats.

SAIT says many small businesses and non-profits are left navigating complex risks without the tools to support their needs.

The 10-week, 80-hour course will take place primarily online with some hours at SAIT’s downtown campus.

“What you can expect is the ability to sit down and understand what does it mean when there’s a cyber attack?” said Vis Naidoo, SAIT’s associate vice president of continuing education.

“What does this mean in terms of the operational side of any company? And what are the ways in which one as a leader can start to address that?”

Applications for the first course in September must be received by July 31.
