Police say body found in river not suspicious

Calgary firefighters were called out to the Bow River near the Calgary Zoo after a body was found in the water.

An autopsy was completed on the body of a man pulled from the Bow River on Wednesday and his death has been declared not suspicious in nature.

The body of a man was found in the water on the north side of the Zoo’s island by a contractor working in the area at about 6:30 a.m. on July, 31, 2013.

An autopsy was conducted on Thursday and concluded the man’s death was not suspicious.

The man's name has not been released and police are not releasing further details in the death.
