Child hit, injured in northeast Calgary crash

A child has been injured after being hit by a vehicle in the community of Whitehorn.

Calgary police say officers were called to the scene near Whiteridge Way and Whiteridge Road N.E. just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The child was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to their ankle.

Police say the driver remained on scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
