Cassidy McMackon

Cassidy is a Digital Producer with CTV Calgary. Her journalism career began at The Queen’s Journal, the student-run newspaper at Queen’s University, where she studied philosophy. Her reporting on food insecurity among university students in 2024 was nominated for a Canadian Association of Journalists award. In 2024, Cassidy moved to Halifax to report from The Canadian Press’s Atlantic bureau, where her coverage of intimate partner violence in Nova Scotia was nominated for the Canadian Journalism Foundation’s Landsberg Award. She returned to Ontario in 2025 to work in The Canadian Press’s Toronto offices, where she covered crime, politics and labour stories, as well as the Toronto International Film Festival and the Toronto Blue Jays’ World Series run. Cassidy speaks English.
