Charges laid in Okotoks indecent act

An Okotoks man has been charged with committing an indecent act in connection with an incident last month.

RCMP launched an investigation on Feb. 23 after receiving a report of a man “engaging in a sexual act in a public place in the middle of the afternoon.”

A Monday news release said the indecent act occurred “in a public building” in Okotoks, but doesn’t identify which one.

RCMP say officers were able to identify the accused from video footage they obtained, adding he was known to them from “previous dealings of similar incidents.”

The accused, a 28-year-old, remains in police custody.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
