Calgary teens facing charges after stabbing in northeast CTrain station: police

Calgary police say three teenagers are facing charges after a stabbing in a northeast CTrain station last weekend.

Police say in a news release officers were called to McKnight-Westwinds LRT Station on Sunday for a report of assault.

Officers found a man suffering “injuries consistent with stab wounds.”

Police say they believe the victim had a brief interaction with three teenage boys, who then stabbed him with a knife.

They say the teens stole the victim’s cellphone and fled the area, and additional officers arrested them a few blocks away.

Eighteen-year-old Tristan Lucas is facing an aggravated assault charge and a robbery charge. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

Meanwhile, a 16-year-old and 14-year-old, whose names cannot be released because of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are each facing a robbery charge.

The older boy remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, while the younger boy was released and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

“It’s deeply disturbing to see young members of the community engaged in such violent behaviour,” Staff Sgt. Mike Saad said in a news release.

“Thankfully, our members were able to respond quickly and locate the offenders to hold them accountable.”

The victim, meanwhile, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
