Calgary police investigating death in Sunridge

Calgary police are investigating a death that occurred in the city’s northeast.

Police say they were called to the Emerald Hotel and Suites in the community of Sunridge late Sunday night for reports of a man in medical distress.

Officers arrived on scene to find a man dead inside his hotel room, a news release from police said.

His death is being treated as suspicious.

Police say one man is in custody in connection to the death.

They add the incident is believed to be targeted and there is no active threat to public safety.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
