Bridlewood arson suspect sought by Calgary police

Calgary police have released photos of a man believed to be partially responsible for a fire at a Bridlewood home earlier this month.

Firefighters were called to the 100 block of Bridlewood Avenue S.W. at roughly 3 a.m. on April 1.

The Calgary Police Service says its arson unit determined two people entered the backyard and “deliberately set fire” to the garage – and attempted to set fire to the home – before fleeing in a waiting vehicle.

Police are looking to the public for help identifying one of the two suspects.

He is described as approximately 50 years old and about 5’10” tall (178 centimetres) with a medium build, short grey hair and a tattoo on the left side of his neck.

He was wearing a grey hoodie over a blue T-shirt, dark pants and white sneakers.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
