22-year-old Lethbridge man facing child luring, sex charges

Police in Lethbridge say a 22-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly tried to lure a 13-year-old girl.

Lethbridge police say the investigation began in December 2025 after officers responded to a report that a 13-year-old girl was contacted on Snapchat by a then 21-year-old man who wanted to meet and have sex.

They say the girl, who was with a group of friends, met the suspect at a city park and police were contacted shortly after.

The suspect left before police arrived, but he was later arrested without incident.

Police say further investigation confirmed the suspect had been communicating with the girl online, knew how old she was and offered to buy her alcohol then take her to his home.

Sean Cedric Bilo of Lethbridge is charged with luring a child under 14 and invitation to sexual touching.

He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court March 20.

The investigation remains ongoing and police say no further information is available at this time.
