Residents across Simcoe County and surrounding areas are casting their ballots Monday for the federal election, which has been surrounded by issues like affordability, housing and economic stability.

This election is what many are calling the most consequential federal election. There are 343 seats up for grabs, meaning the magic number to win a majority government is 172 seats - anything lower will mean another minority government.

Voters must be at least 18 years old and provide photo identification. Polls are open across the region until 9:30 p.m.
