Three of the 50-plus crowd busted on impaired driving charges

Southern Georgian Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) laid three impaired driving-related charges to the over 50 crowd Monday.

Police were called about a suspected impaired driver who had just left a medical facility in Penetanguishene mid-afternoon.

Police found the car a short time later at a residence in Hillsdale. The driver displayed clear signs of alcohol impairment and was arrested. The 60-year-old Hillsdale woman refused to comply with a lawful breath demand.

She was charged with operation while impaired and refusal to comply with a demand.

At around 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a call about a suspected impaired driver at a residence on King St. in Midland.

Police located the man a short time later and conducted a roadside investigation. The driver was arrested after registering a Fail on the breathalyzer.

A 52-year-old Midland man was charged with impaired driving charges.

At roughly 9:15 p.m. Monday, police were dispatched to a car crash on Highway 400 in Georgian Bay Township.

The driver sustained injuries and was brought to a local hospital. Through the investigation, police determined the driver had been operating the vehicle while impaired.

A 57-year-old Oro-Medonte man was charged with various impaired driving offences.

Each of the three is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in June.
