Plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures are in store for the Forest City as we head into the weekend. According to CTV News London Meteorologist Julie Atchison, a high-pressure system expanding from northern Ontario brought a light north northeasterly flow across the Great Lakes on Thursday, bringing temperatures into the mid-teens in midwestern Ontario and 21 C in London. “But temperatures as you can see along that shoreline of Lake Huron on the cooler side with that northerly wind coming off the lake, high pressure will continue to expand and sink southward heading into tonight,” she said. Winds will be light and skies will be clear Thursday night, with an overnight low of 6 C. Atchison says it will get warmer heading into Friday, with a daytime high of 26 C and sunny skies. “We have a weak front that will push through Friday night and that will drop the temperature and bring us a fresh flow out of the north heading into Saturday and Sunday,” she said. Starting on Friday and through the weekend into early next week the daytime high will hold around 20 C, which Atchison says is “right where we should be for this time of year.” Overnight lows will hover between 9 to 11 C, with clear skies. “Some gorgeous weather on the way,” Atchison said.
