Four teens rushed to hospital after Whitby crash, two were ejected from vehicle

Four teenagers have been rushed to hospital, including one with critical injuries, following a single-vehicle crash in Whitby early Thursday morning.

It happened in the area of Myrtle Road and Baldwin Street at around 5:35 a.m.

Police say that at least two occupants were ejected from the vehicle as a result of the collision. The vehicle flipped over due to the impact, police say.

A 16-year-old female was subsequently airlifted to hospital with critical injuries while an 18-year-old male and 19-year-old male were transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries. The fourth victim, a 14-year-old male, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear.

Police say that Myrtle Road is closed in both directions between Baldwin Street and Ashburn Road for an investigation.
