An investigation is underway following a house fire in Georgian Bay. Fire officials say they received a call around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, after a passer by observed smoke coming from the roof of a home on South Bay Road. Upon arrival, Georgian Bay Fire and Emergency Services says it reached out to other nearby fire departments for assistance despite having three station crews on scene. Severn Township and Tay Township fire services arrived to help out. There were no injuries or fatalities reported, as fire officials say no one was home at the time of the fire. There is no word yet on a cost of total damages or any charges as the cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time. We will update this article was more information becomes available.
