A northerly flow will dominate the weather pattern this week. That should keep B.C. wildfire smoke at bay, but also drag through a few showers/thunderstorms in the coming days. We’re seeing a few showers to the north and northeast of Edmonton early this morning. That should pass east of Edmonton mid-morning, but there’s a slight chance of a shower in parts of the city (especially eastern parts). There’s a better chance for a shower or thunderstorm in the area this evening. Cloudy with a few sunny breaks on Wednesday with a chance of some showers mid-afternoon and again late Wednesday night. That cold front pushing through Wednesday night probably gives us our best chance at seeing some rain. Daytime highs will hit the 23 to 26 C range today and Wednesday. But, we’ll cool to a high near 20 C (or just slightly above) on Thursday. Drier, sunnier and afternoon highs in the low to mid 20s for Friday and the coming weekend.
