Ditched car leads to impaired driving charges in New Tecumseth, Ont.

A driver ditched his car onto its side stranding him inside.

Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call for service regarding a car in the ditch Sunday shortly after 9 p.m.

The car had come to a stop on the driver’s side, trapping the driver inside.

He had to be helped out but did not sustain any injuries.

Police detected a strong odour of alcohol on his breath and charged the 33-year-old New Tecumseth man with impaired charges and failing to comply with a demand.

He has a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford, and his licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.
