Open Air Dunlop has once again taken over downtown Barrie and Dunlop Street is full of classic vehicles. Over 300 classic and modern cars are parked along the street showing off timeless classics. Cars have also taken over Heritage Park. Organizer Michael Bartley said taking a walk is like walking through a time machine. “The ingenuity of the original vehicles in the early days and the progress through the years that you can see it walking 100ft down this road,” said Bartley. “You can you could pass through 75 or 80 years of, technology and the auto industry, in real time.” Families of all ages have walked Dunlop Street. “It really is kind of warming to be able to see these vehicles still being taken care of, still being cared for, looked after,” said Bartley. “They’re handed down through generations as well. Some of these young kids that are here today will actually own some of these vehicles.” Dunlop Street will remain closed for Saturday for Open Air Dunlop and the Troubadour Summer Concert Series.
