The Saskatchewan government is seeking nominations for the 2027 Saskatchewan Order of Merit. The Order of Merit, which was first awarded in 1985, is the province’s highest honour recognizing outstanding achievement and service. “Members of the Order of Merit are among the most accomplished people Saskatchewan has produced,” says Lieutenant Governor Bernadette McIntyre. “Past recipients earned this prestigious honour by attaining extraordinary success in a wide range of fields, and by making substantial contributions to our province and country. I urge our citizens to nominate someone they know who is deserving of this special recognition.” The Order of Merit recognizes those making a difference in areas including agriculture, business, community leadership, the arts and more. “We recognize those in Saskatchewan who are at the absolute pinnacle of their career,” says Jason Quilliam, Chief of Protocol for the Government of Saskatchewan. “We want to show our appreciation to the people of Saskatchewan through investing them with the medal.” The deadline to nominate someone for the Order of Merit is Nov. 30. Nominees must be current or former long-term residents of the province to be eligible. A ceremony will be held next year to honour the chosen recipients.
