City to shut down Huronia at Lockhart intersection

The City of Barrie says the work along Huronia Road is still ongoing.

The next shutdown will take place at Lockhart Road, the city says.

Major culvert replacement and deep sanitary sewer installation projects are already underway along the major road and are expected to continue until the end of January 2027.

Earlier in June, the city shut down parts of Huronia Road at Big Bay Point Road as part of the same project.

On Thursday the city will shut down the intersection of Huronia Road at Lockhart Road as work continues.

The intersection is expected to remain closed until Sept. 30.

In the meantime, the city says it will be making detours available to local traffic.
