There was a large-scale emergency response in the south end of Barrie around noon on Sunday, as crews responded to a shed fire at a home on Leslie Avenue. Sirens were heard continuously throughout the area and nearby witnesses told CTV News they observed thick black smoke in the sky. Barrie’s deputy fire chief later confirmed to CTV News that it was a shed fire, yielding a response from their platoon chief and two fire crews. He says they controlled and extinguished the fire quickly, but the shed was destroyed. No injuries were reported in the incident. Fire officials say nearby homes sustained some heat damage and that crews continued working on the scene. The cause of the fire is not yet known. Note: This is a developing news story.
